Finding the Causes of Anxiety Attacks: How to Completely Erase Panic Attacks For Good

When I began to suffer from anxiety panic attacks, I thought if I could just find the root cause, I could deal with it and the problem would magically go away. The reality is, curing out of control anxiety like mine is not that simple.

What I found in my search for anxiety self help is that anxiety is a psychological condition and as a result, the causes of anxiety attacks can be pretty difficult to track down.

Evidently many different things can cause panic attacks and often the real cause is a complex combination of factors. This meant that treating the symptoms of my anxiety would require a multilayered approach and take some time.

While I wanted to go the complete anxiety self help route, and use only natural anxiety relief techniques, I decided to get some professional help to perhaps give me a jump start. I wanted to overcome these panic attacks fast and get my normal life back.

My doctor said you can treat anxiety and panic attacks pretty effectively with anti anxiety medication for the short term. Usually if you go in for treatment of acute anxiety, this is what physicians or psychiatrists recommend.

Like most people, I wanted a quick cure. I agreed to try Xanax while I continued to look for natural anxiety relief and what really were the causes of anxiety attacks.

Actually the anti anxiety medication allowed me to get over the worst of the attacks and keep a normal mental state. That made it much easier to try some of the long term anxiety treatments.

Of course the physical causes of anxiety attacks are pretty well known, and this is where I began my anxiety self help treatment.

I can tell you that learning how to better deal with stress through exercise, relaxation techniques, stretching, and  breathing exercises has made a remarkable difference.  Personally, yoga seems to combine all of these and I actually look forward to my yoga class.

Once I got to the point where I could function without worrying about being overcome by panic attacks, I knew could look at the deeper issues. For me, finding the causes of anxiety attacks started with looking at the triggers.

It took me a while to realize it, but there are certain issues that always triggered feelings of anxiety. I was really uncomfortable in some social situations in my life and had some serious insecurities that were getting to me.

It turned out that these were the causes of an anxiety attack every time. I thought about just avoiding those sorts of social situations in the future, but that was not something I would easily be able to do. Besides, I knew that wasn’t how to cure anxiety. I would inevitably get into trouble in the future if I didn't face my fear  and leave anxiety behind for good.

Currently I am still dealing with stress and some symptoms of anxiety, but I have made huge strides and I no longer take Xanax. I look at the whole thing as a deep mission of personal growth. Whenever I feel anxious, I am able to step back and calm myself.

I now understand the causes of anxiety attacks in my own life, and I rarely panic anymore. Fortunately things are getting better all the time and I have absolute faith that eventually I will overcome anxiety once and for all.
